Congratulations to Camille Dennis
on her recent purchase of the adorable "Bart'. We are
so happy he has a great new home and look forward to seeing them out
on the competition circuit. Sydney 3DE was a great event.
Perfect weather added to the great competition. Well done to the
Aussie Trans-Tasman Team for a convincing win and to Stuart Tinney
winner of the CCI3*. FHF took Carson
Hill who jumped very well around the CIC2* for Nicky. Sam rode Asanta in his first Pre-Nov (105) and Over the Limit in the
CIC1*.Thanks to the owners of the horses Evy Le Feuvre (Asanta) &
Bec Swinton (Over the Limit) and thanks also to the event committee
for hosting such a fabulous competition. Congratulations to Tess Shepherd
from Goulburn on her purchase of Sabre. We wish them a great future
together and look forward to following their successes. FHF had a great weekend at Berrima event. The lovely Mudcake was 5th in the CIC 2 star with Sam , Haunui Hill has taken to eventing (even the water jump) and finished 2nd in the Introductory ridden by Nicky, Charlotte D'Arcy rode her first ever event on Derwent Venture for 7th in the Intro. Sam rode Monte to 3rd in his first ever preliminary, Sam also rode Asanta to 9th in prelim and Karli Hatton finished her first Pre novice since moving to NSW with a clear XC. Congratulations to Bols Armstrong for winning the Fox Hill Farm Ev95 class Monte makes it two for two! Sam enjoyed another win on Monte, this time at Scone. It was only Intro but it was nice to see this lovely horse enjoying his new job. Mudcake and Carson Hill had their first run for the season both clear XC and SJ in the CNC2* with Mudcake - ridden by Sam - finishing in 5th place. It was a great event and especially great to see the beautiful Hunter Valley so green and lush. Monte wins at his debut!
Sam enjoyed a win at SIEC in the Ev80 - his first event on his new
horse Monte. Monte - a lovely Warmblood purchased from
Virginia Pulbrook, scored 71% in the dressage and finished on
that score. Leah Scott's Revelwood McKenzie and Fox Hill Farm's
Haunui Hill both had their first start. Both doing nice tests but
finding one XC jump scary but redeeming themselves with nice SJ
rounds. The heavy rain meant all the XC on Sunday was cancelled so
Asanta (prelim) Mudcake (2 star) and Carson Hill (2 star) were all
limited to a combined training event. Below - Monte and Sam.
Sam takes a trip to the UK. Sam
headed overseas to coach at the Aussie High Performance Squad clinic
in UK. He thoroughly enjoyed working with the UK
based riders despite the cold weather. The amazing indoor arena at
the Unicorn Trust Equestrian Centre made his job much easier! Below

It was great day and night with plenty of Eventers cutting up the dance floor. Thanks to everyone who made it so special. Foxdale Premiere's first foal was born at Fox Hill Farm on 17 November. A beautifully filly out of a mare by Bao Luck. Foxdale Premiere (by Premiere des Hayettes) is now jumping successfully with Carly Overton in Qld
We took 3 horses to Adelaide 3DE.
This is such a great event.
Our team had some mixed results. Sam rode Merran Wallis’s
Good Vibes and Steph Davies' Mudcake whilst Nicky rode her own
Carson Hill, all in the CCI2*. Good Vibes objected to the first
water jump and Sam called it a day. It was a tough water and “Willy”
was a little green for it this time. Nicky had 20 penalties at the
same jump and was kicking herself as she felt it was purely rider
error. Carson flew around the rest of the course and definitely
coped with the level of the course. Following a really nice dressage
test Mudcake jumped a super round XC. However, a nasty boot rub saw
him too sore to trot up the next day and sadly his event was over.
So come Sunday Carson was the last man standing and he did us proud
by jumping a great clear show jumping round, one of just six in the
whole CCI2*. Below Mudcake and Canberra CIC went well for Sam, finishing 3rd and 4th in the CIC2 star on Mudcake and Good Vibes. Sam achieved 2 of the 7 clear Two star XC rounds (out of 32 starters!). He also finished 2nd in the prelim on Asanta.
After a cold start the Baxter Boots Goulburn State
Championships was once again one of the best events in the
country. We took 4 horses;
Sam and Good Vibes (owned by Merran Wallis) got off to a slow start
- apparently neither of them liked riding in the snow on dressage
day but redeemed themselves on XC flying around the CIC2*.
Carson Hill jumped like a champion for Nicky in the CIC2* but his
slow jockey kept them out of the prizes (pictured below).
Welcome Tina! Fox Hill Farm is pleased to welcome Tina Pietruszynski to the team. Tina has replaced Olivia who has continued her travels. Tina, a jumping rider from Germany, is keen to go eventing and we are thrilled to have her at FHF. We took 5 horses to the Mirrabooka Event in Sept. Three introductory horses; Asanta, a lovely chestnut gelding owned by Evy Wiggans, Satchmo (owned by Beth Turner) & Ego Clementine (owned by Dr. Linda Mayer). Satchmo and Clementine got off to a great start scoring 29.4 and 31.2 penalties in the dressage, whilst Asanta showed his talent on the XC. Sam rode Merran Wallis's Good Vibes to 6th place in the 2 star with the fastest XC of the day. Nicky completed her first 2 star in a long time on the fabulous Carson Hill with a pleasing clear XC and SJ to finish 10th. Congratulations to Gemma Clarke on her recent purchase of Foxdale Amalfi (Jake). We look forward to following their successes.
Congratulations to Craig Barrett - winner of the
Fox Hill Farm 1.05 class at the recent Berrima event. Sam took
Beth Turner's Stalypso gelding Satchmo in the introductory for his
first start, finishing with just one spooky stop! Sam also ran
Merran Wallace's Good Vibes in the CIC1* and will be taking him 2
star next start. Satchmo pictured below.
Eventing Equestriad at Camden in Sept was once again an awesome event with around 550 entries. Nicky rode in her first event since having Ava and Carson was great finishing =2nd in a class of nearly 50 horses in the 1 star. Sam placed 6th in the 3 star on Jake (Foxdale Amalfi) in just his 2nd 3 star start. Mudcake, owned by Steph Davies flew around the 2 star and finished 13th. A good weekend at SIEC: At the recent winter event at SIEC Foxdale Amalfi finished 6th in his first 3*. Carson Hill also upgraded for his first 2* and flew around the XC with just 1.6 time. Mudcake (owned by Stephanie Davies) was really pleasing to finish 6th in the 2* and Under Contract (owned by Emily Dockray) was 3rd in the 1*. Laura Wallace's Crown Prosecutor cantered around the Pre Novice sweetly to finish 13th. Welcome to Olivia Boos: We welcome Olivia to our team at Foxhill Farm. Olivia, who hails from New Zealand, was thrown in the deep end with 5 horses at her first event at SIEC! We are thrilled to have her as part of the crew. Introducing Ava Olivia Lyle. Sam and Nicky are proud to announce the birth of their daughter Ava, born on 4 June. Thanks to everyone for their best wishes and all the amazing presents.
We have moved Sam and Nicky have relocated to Sutton Forest in the NSW Southern Highlands (1.5hrs south of Sydney). We are busy setting up the new property. The arena is well underway and should be finished soon. ![]() ![]() ![]() A good run at Albury CIC Sam finished 4th in the 2 star on Foxdale Amalfi (Jake).
